ALBION — Grant S. Merriman, 62, of Albion, died on Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, at his home. He had been ill for six months. He was born on Jan 17, 1952, in Kendallville to the late Adren L. and Sadie L. (Green) Merriman. He was a U.S. Army veteran and worked at Dexter Axle in Albion for many years. He married Bobbi Voirol in 2003. He was a member of the Gold Prospectors Association and the National Spelunking Society. He also built jet engines from scratch in his garage. He is survived by his wife, Bobbi, sons, Nathan T. (Anna) Merriman of Albion, Christopher A. Merriman of Kendallville, and Michael J. Merriman of Albion, daughters, Emery N. Merriman of Fort Wayne, and Melissa (Steve) McDonald of Avilla. Also surviving is a brother, Bart Merriman of Rome City. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Kimberly, and brothers, Ronnie, Dick, and Duane. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Sept 2, 2014, from 12-2 p.m. and 4-8 p.m. at the Brazzell Funeral Home, 771 Trail Ridge Road, Albion.
