Gregory Comer, 63, of Pierre, SD. Originally of Vernon, Texas, passed on October 10, 2023 surrounded by his wife, all his children and grandchildren. Gregory was born on October 17, 1959 to Lee Roy Comer and Dorothy Mae Comer. The 2nd youngest of 7 children; Richard, Judy, Carla, Ronnie(deceased in infancy), Donnie, and Alan.

He went to school in Vernon and graduated in 1978. He joined the Army straight out of high school. Was stationed in Lawton, OK and later went to Nuremberg, Germany. He always wanted to return to that beautiful country. After the Army, he worked various jobs, such as restaurants, casinos, gas stations, state hospital, and Envirotech waste services. But his long time favorite was custom harvesting for Gordon Haynes, Inc. He considered them all family.

In August of 1995, he met Angel Hamann at a bar in Ft. Pierre, SD. Where they hit it off immediately and were married only 5 months later on January 11, 1996. Where Angel brought in a bonus child, DJ, they welcomed Emily in December of that year. Those 2 children were 3 years and 2 months apart, and 3 years and 2 months later Dalton was born. Then after 5 years and 2 months Jaylyn was born. That fact was always mentioned.

The 6 of them made homes in both Texas and South Dakota in the years they were together. Finally settling in Pierre for the past 10 years before his passing. Despite all his friends and family here in SD; Vernon, TX is where he considered his HOME.

He is preceded in death by his parents, all of his siblings and many other friends and family. He is survived by; his wife of almost 28 years, his children - DJ Hamann, Emily Comer, Dalton (Rylie) Comer, and Jaylyn Comer. His grandchildren Maci (Cassi) Link, Sawyer "Pickle", and Gannon "Ducky".

He will be dearly missed.
