Gregory "Greg" Egbert, a financial analyst, and resident of Keller, TX, died unexpectedly on December 11, 2015, at the age of 64 due to complications of being struck by a car while crossing the street the day before.
Gregory is survived by his wife, Alison; his children, Mikaela and Ian; his sister, Denise; and his nieces, Hallie and Samantha. He is predeceased by his mother, Georgette; his father, Milton; his grandmother, Barbara; and his grandfather William.
Gregory was born in Dallas on September 11, 1954, to Georgette and Milton Egbert. He graduated from the University of Texas in 1975 with a degree in Business Mathematics and worked as the lead financial analyst for the Dallas Bank of America headquarters. On September 13, 1993, he married Alison, a production artist for Dallas Morning News. On June 29, 1998, and November 11, 2002, respectively, he welcomes his daughter Mikaela and son Ian, who were the most important part of his life.
Gregory was a devoted father, husband, and an avid fisherman. In his spare time, he enjoyed participating in bass fishing tournaments, hiking, camping, and helping out with his son Ian's boy scout troop. He often played in a band at local bars and was known as a skilled and intuitive pianist among his avid listeners. He was also a problem-solver and often took on difficult projects at work and around the house. He was a spiritual man and was involved in many church activities, including playing the piano during services. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 10 at Northwood Church on Rufe Snow Dr. Reverend Johnathan Wills will officiate. Flowers, donations, and condolences may be offered at 908 Williamsburg Lane Keller, TX 76248.
