“Greggie” died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at the age of 73. He was preceded in death by his parents Herbert (85) and Margaret Glemser (51), his brothers Paul (78), Lawrence (76), and beloved brother James (75), daughter Casey Lee Glemser (newborn), Carolyn Berkenstock (36) and much loved son Dylan Colella (27).
“Greggie Man” lived many different lifetimes, but his fierce love of music, family and friends were the common threads woven into his life and adventures. Greg was a native son of Abington, PA but grew up in Switchville since age two. He retired to Florida after 30 years in the construction business, starting out as a dump truck driver and ending his career as a lowboy operator which required him to be an expert operating engineer. He was an entrepreneur and owned and operated multiple businesses: a trucking company with his father proudly named Glemser & Son, a Street Rod restoration business with one of his best buddies Robbie Bernhard called Razz Bros. and his solo venture, Glemshire Towing. He was passionate about Hot Rods and was a Hot Rod himself. His shop was his happy place and he could often be found tinkering and MacGyvering there.
“Greggie” is survived by his widow Sandra Glemser, first wife Cheri Lyn Glemser (69), his children Erika Jane Glemser Ho (Alan), Jaymie Ruth Weinberg (Matthew), Grant Michael Glemser (Sarah) and Maggie May Glemser. In the days before his passing, he connected for the first time with his daughter Andrea Snyder Hayhurst (Steve).
He adored his grandchildren and will forever be “Poppie’’ to Madison Paige (23), Casey Leigh (22) and wife Samantha, Katherine Taylor (21), Megan Ann (19), Jasper David (19), Grady Leo (14), Gracie Mae (11), Alexa Grace (10), Griffin Gregory (9), and June Kae (7).
His memory will forever sing in our hearts. After all, Hot Rods never die.
