Gregory G. Repetti, Jr.Gregory George Repetti Jr., 85, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2016. Gregory was born on July 21, 1931 in Brooklyn, N.Y. he was the son of New York City policeman, Gregory G. Repetti Sr. and Della Repetti. He graduated from Lafayette High School where he excelled in both academics and athletics. He co-captained the New York City champion baseball team. He attended St. John's University and graduated with a degree in Business Administration. While at St. John's, he met Bernadette Rudden whom he married in 1955. Upon graduation he began his career in sales with Revere Copper and Brass. He joined Bridgeport Brass Company and moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He relocated to Akron in 1967 as the National Sales Manager for their tire valve division. He subsequently joined Goodyear Aerospace and finished his 50 year career with the Haltec Corporation in Salem, Ohio.In 1990, he lost his beloved wife, Bernie after her long battle with cancer. He was blessed to find love again and married Froncie Ferbstein Rogers in 1995. After retirement, he and Froncie spent their winters in St. Pete's Beach, Florida and the rest of the year in Akron. He was active in the community as a member of the Akron Gyro's club and supporter of both Summa Health and Akron Children's Hospital. He was a man of faith and a very active member of St. Vincent Catholic Church. Greg was an avid golfer and a former member at Silver Lake Country Club. He passed a few days after completing his final round of golf with his good friends. His dignified style was admired by all who got to know him and he gave so much of himself to so many. He will be loved, missed and remembered by all who knew him.He is survived by his loving wife, Froncie; his son, Gregory "Greg" Repetti III, his wife, Angie and their children, Gregory IV and Brigid of Spokane, Washington; his son, Mark Repetti of Madison, Wisconsin; his step-son, George Rogers and his wife, Tetchie of San Diego, California; his step-daughter, Julie Wilkes and her husband, Mark and their children, Mindy, Charlie and Henry of Medina, Ohio; his sister, Kathleen Mason of Newton, Connecticut; and several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 27th at the Hennessy Funeral Home, 552 N. Main Street, Akron, Ohio 44310. A celebratory mass will be held on Monday, November, 28th at 11 a.m. at St. Vincent Catholic Church, 164 W. Market St., Akron, OH 44303. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Summa Health Foundation, Akron Children's Hospital, Walsh Jesuit High School or Gonzaga Preparatory School (Spokane, Wash).
