Dr. Gregory Gallo1927 - 2014Dr. Gregory Gallo died Sept. 13, 2014, at Angels Grace Hospice, Oconomowoc, Wis. Greg was born on March 4, 1927, to Gregorio and Concetta Gallo in Kenosha, Wis. He was a 1945 graduate of Bradford High School in Kenosha, WI. He served in the U.S. Army as a medical NCO in 1945-1946. He earned his bachelors and medical degrees from the University of Wisconsin and did his medical internship at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, TX. He then established a general medical practice in Oconomowoc in 1958. After further study, he became a board certified anesthesiologist and practiced at Waukesha Memorial Hospital until his retirement in 1986. Greg was a diplomat of and a delegate to the American Board of Anesthesia. Greg married Nancy Louise Reid on June 10, 1956. His wife of 58 years took great care of him through his final years of failing health. Greg is also survived by his three children: David Gallo of Del Mar, Calif.; Diane G Heatley of Madison, Wis.; and Charles Gallo of Naples, Fla. Greg is also survived by his daughter-in-law Mia Gallo and his three grandchildren: Julienna Gallo, Louis Gallo, and AJ Heatley.In 1986, Greg and Nancy became residents of Naples, Florida where they became members of the Club at Pelican Bay. In Naples, they enjoyed biking, golf, tennis, and the many pleasant opportunities Naples offers. Greg volunteered as a physician at the Naples Senior Friendship Health Center and on St. Lucia in the Caribbean.Greg also greatly enjoyed his family, his work, traveling, collecting, skiing, fishing, and playing bridge.Visitation will be held at Pagenkopf Funeral Home, 1165 E.
