YORK Grover D. "Lefty" Kiser, 91, died Friday, May 22, 2015, at Colonial Manor, York. He was the husband of the late Evelyn R. (Eyster) Kiser. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, with his daughter, the Rev. Dr. Brenda J. Kiser, officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's (Wolf's) Union Cemetery, York. Viewings will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Kiser was born on September 12, 1923, in Sandy Ridge, Va., and was a son of the late Houston J. and Orpha (Wolfe) Kiser. He was a U.S.
Army Air Corps Veteran of
World War II and had retired from York International as a Machine Shop Foreman after over 30 years of employment. He was a member of the 25 Year Club at York International. He was also a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church in York, where he was an active member of their Sunday School Classes and the Half Century Senior Group of the church. He loved fishing, farming, and gardening for all of his life and shared his produce and crops with many people. Grover is survived by a daughter, Rev. Dr. Brenda J. Kiser of Shippensburg; two sons, Wayne A. Kiser and his wife, Donna of Lancaster, and Thomas E. Kiser of York; by a sister, Minnie Cox of York; and nieces and nephews. He was one of 13 siblings.
