Guadalupe Edward UrquidezSan AngeloGuadalupe Edward Urquidez, 74, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017 in Dallas.Funeral Mass will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017 at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 2100 N. Davis Drive, Arlington. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Lane 2. Visitation will be 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017, with a rosary beginning at 7 p.m. at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.Edward was born on Feb. 8, 1943 in Alpine, Texas, to Guadalupe Urquidez and Faye Moreno Urquidez. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He married Barbara Ruth Puentez on June 1, 1968 in Big Lake, Texas. He resided for 30 years in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and worked as a terminal operator for Exxon Pipeline Company. A resident of San Angelo since 2001, he was a member of the Sacred Heart Cathedral. He has resided in Arlington the past two years due to his illness.Edward loved hunting, shooting, watching movies, and was an avid Texas Rangers baseball fan.He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Herlinda Urquidez.Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Barbara Ruth Puentez Urquidez; daughter, Stephanie Urquidez of Austin; son, Douglas Ryan Urquidez and wife Andrea of Arlington; brothers, Frank Urquidez and wife Mary, Joe Urquidez and wife,Dee, and Dennis Urquidez; sister, Rosemary Cemental and husband Jimmy; sister-in-law, Margaret Barrera and husband, Rogelio; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
