Guadalupe "Gordy" Gonzalez died on Sunday, August 27, 2017. Rosary will be said at 6:00 pm, Thursday, August 31, 2017 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 pm, Friday, September 1, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Jose Gomez as Celebrant.Guadalupe was born on November 25, 1950 to Guadalupe Sr. and Delfina Contreras. He married Rejina Recio on October 16, 1982 in Amarillo. Guadalupe was a truck driver all of his life. He was in the Music Ministry at St. Laurence Catholic Church and also played in Tejano and Country and Western bands. He loved to play softball and was a die hard Denver Broncos fan. Guadalupe never met a stranger and always had a joke ready to tell.He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Tammy Aguilar, two brothers and one sister.He is survived by his wife, Kina; two sons, Joe Damien Gonzalez and wife Michelle and Albert Gonzalez and wife Krystal; three daughters, Amy Gilmore and husband Steve, Delfina Gonzalez and Mary Ann Byrd and husband Richard; three brothers, Deacon Andy Gonzalez and wife Esmerelda, Juan Estaban Gonzalez and wife Julie, Jose Maria Gonzalez; one step brother, Joe Sanchez and wife Raquel; three step sisters, Maria Eugenia Sanchez, Juanita Sanchez and Veronica Sanchez and sixteen grandchildren.
