Schenkoske, Gustav "Gust"Gustav "Gust" Julius Schenkoske, age 92 of Suring, passed away at his home on Thursday, February 2, 2017. He was born on March 22, 1924 to the late Emil and Emilie (Schindel) Schenkoske. Gust married Lolabelle Jean McMahon on July 23, 1946 in Burlington, WI. He worked at Zippel Construction as a bulldozer operator for many years until he was well into his 70's. He was involved in many construction projects including local golf courses, ski hills, and many of the roads in Oconto and Marinette counties, of which he was quite proud. Gust was a long time member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Suring. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially hunting and fishing with his sons. Gust is survived by his three sons, Richard "Dick" (Gayle) of Pound, Steve (Deb) of Stiles, and David of Corona, California; five grandchildren, Jay (Laurel) Schenkoske, Andrea (Sabin Rosenbaum) Schenkoske, Jill (Joshua) Montie, Jesse (Danielle) Schenkoske, and Josey (Kelly) Schenkoske; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Lena Severson of Gillett; one brother, Walter (Dolly) Schenkoski of Gillett. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including special family friend Therese Lawler.He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lolabelle; two sons, Gordon and Danny; his parents; four brothers, Rudy, Willie, Edward, and Bennie; one sister Tillie Yanke.Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring from 12 pm until the memorial service at 2 pm with Pastor Michael Paholke officiating.
