Our beloved Guy “Dana” Murriell, 58, of Rahway, New Jersey, transitioned peacefully on May 20, 2024 with family by his side. Born September 11, 1965, in Elizabeth, NJ, he is predeceased by his parents, Claude and Gloria Murriell of Rahway, NJ.
Guy spent his early childhood years living in Kenilworth, NJ. The family then moved to Rahway, NJ where Guy attended Rahway Public Schools. It was there he found his love for wrestling. After he graduated high school, Guy went on to work for Rahway Dept of Public Works. Guy was a hard worker.
Guy, a beacon of love, care, and zest for life, has left an indelible mark on all who knew him. His contagious laughter and unwavering kindness touched hearts, leaving behind cherished memories. Whether it was a warm smile, a helping hand, or a witty joke, Guy made sure to brighten our days.
Guy was the life of every gathering. His love for house music was legendary, and you could always find him dancing wherever the beat took him. His energy was contagious, and he effortlessly turned any event into a celebration. Guy’s presence was a gift—a reminder to embrace joy and live fully.
Beyond the dance floor, Guy was a community man. He dedicated countless hours to helping neighbors maintain their homes. His handyman skills were unmatched, and he selflessly lent a hand whenever needed. To know Guy was to love him—a testament to his boundless generosity.
Guy’s legacy is one of love. He didn’t just share it; he spread it like wildfire. His kindness, laughter, and compassion touched lives, leaving an everlasting impact. As we bid farewell, let us honor Guy by continuing to brighten others’ days, just as he did for us.
He is survived by his daughter Tiara Murriell and grandson Porter Natson, whom he loved so dearly. Guy is survived by his brothers Norman Humphrey, his sister's Claudett Miller, Andrea Murriell, Fawn Knordle (Jim), Sonjirey Murriell Tracie Murriell, Brenda Murrell (Larry). He is also predeceased by his daughter Porscha Murriell, brothers Michael Knordle, Leslie Knordle, Larry Murrell and sister Keisha Murriell. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Guy will be remembered for his kind heart, his unwavering dedication to his family, and his commitment to making the world a better place. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
