Guy Thomas ErbMemphis, TNGuy Thomas Erb, age 92 passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, May 30, 2017. He was predeceased by his parents Alice McCadden Erb and John Thomas Erb, his brother Jack Erb, his sister Jean Erb Owen and his brother- in -law, Jimmy Owen.He leaves his beloved wife of 61 years, Nancy Uzzelle Erb, a son John Erb, a daughter Laine Park, her husband Dudley, and two grandsons, Rob Park and his wife Ashley, and Michael Park and his fiancée Charlotte White. He is also survived by his sister, Susie Erb Carr and her husband Andy Carr of Clarksdale, Mississippi , his sister in law, Imogene Erb and many nieces and nephews.A lifelong Memphian, Guy was born on December 28, 1924. After graduating from Christian Brothers High School, he served in the Army Air Corp for 3 years during World War ll. He graduated from the University of Missouri with degrees in Journalism and Business. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon social fraternity and president of the Missouri Chapter of Alpha Delta Sigma national advertising fraternity for 2 terms. He was a retired Home Builder and Realtor, building homes in East Memphis and Germantown for 42 years. He was a member of the Home Builders Association and the Memphis Board of Realtors. A devoted Catholic, Guy was a member of St Louis Catholic ChurchHe was an ardent vegetable gardener and tennis player and loved to tell corny jokes. Guy and Nancy enjoyed playing tennis together with their many friends. Guy never met a stranger and had a heart for giving and taking care of everyone. He was a member of the Memphis Hunt and Polo Club and a former member of The Memphis Country Club.His family would like to thank the dedicated nurses and staff at the Allen Morgan Health Center and his loving caregivers, Derrek Adams, Stanley Jenkins, Evelyn McCallam, and Carolyn Guy who were his constant and loving companions. Graveside services will be 11 a.m., Friday, June 2, 2017 at Elmwood Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to St Louis Catholic Church or The Church Health Center.
