Stoeger, Gwen A.Gwen A. Stoeger, age 89, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2017. Gwen was born on October 18, 1927, to the late Philip and Agnes (Bissing) Vercauteren and was a graduate of Appleton High School. She married Jerome "Joe" Stoeger in 1946 and had seven children; he preceded her in death in 2013. Gwen was very active in her children's and grandchildren's lives. She attended many of their special events over the years, and cheered on her children/grandchildren at every possible moment. Mom was blessed with many wonderful friends over the years, especially her BFFs Betty Wolter, Helen Yach, and her sister-in-law, Alice Vercauteren. Mom made friends easily and maintained those friendships for life. Gwen is survived by her children: Rick (Bonnie) Stoeger, Janet (Todd) Hermsen, Kathy (Jim) Byrne—all of Appleton; Linda (Jeff) Rupp, Coppell, TX; Jeff (Denise) Stoeger, Hamilton, MT; and Carla (Doug) Dusso, Aurora, CO; her grandchildren: Sean and Josh Stoeger, Jessie (Tom) Mager; Brian, Katie and Adam Hermsen, Kevin (Jennifer) Brunette, Sarah Brunette, Nicholas Rupp, Ashlee (Eric) Burke, Chase and Zach Stoeger, and Andrew and Stephanie Dusso; her great grandchildren: Scott Mager, Claire Schultz, Ava Brunette and Max Burke; her in-laws: Fred "Hansy" Stoeger, Joan "Dolly" (Dick) Schmidt, Marion "Tootie" Maas, and Mya Johnson. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Judy Blaesing; her brother, Eugene; her sisters, Lorraine and Germaine; her in-laws, Fred (Vera) Stoeger; her granddaughter, Jenny Stoeger; sisters-in-law, Mildred "Mouse" Klein, Doris Stoeger, and Ruth Stoeger; and her brothers-in-law, Fran Klein, Bob Maas, Jimmy Stoeger, Herbert Stoeger. Memorial services for Gwen will be at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2017, at The WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, 537 N. Superior Street, Appleton, with Deacon Tony Abts officiating. The visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services. Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Demery and Mom's entire hospice team for their compassionate care.
