Gwendolyn Judy Cachora, 69, passed away Friday, September 7, 2012. She was born on May 2, 1943, in Fort Yuma, CA. Judy was a well respected member of the community. She spent a majority of her life helping others. From being a CPS worker to retiring as Quechan Tribal Advocate she touched many lives. Always having time to listen to others and quietly advising them. She was the center of our family. She was a great-grandmother, grandmother, father, friend, but most importantly our Mama. She leaves behind a large family that will miss her greatly. There is a hole in our lives that will never be filled. Although she has left us, we know she is with her brother and sisters, until we see you again Mama. Judy is survived by her daughters, Jacqueline (Phil) Emerson, Paula Hill, Marsha Hill, and Alexis Cachora; sons, Edward (Sarah) Hill Sr., Samuel Hill Sr., John Cachora Sr., and Donald Cachora Sr.; brother, Eldridge Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ada Lucille Smith and Sylvester Smith Sr.; sisters, Ada Lucille Aguerro, Rozmend Gail Evanston, and Patronella Smith; brother, Sylvester Smith Sr.; children, Elliott Leon Hill Jr., Alex M. Cachora, and Marty Cachora. Visitation will be held at Yuma Mortuary Friday, September 14, 2012, from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. and a service from 3:00 P.M. to 4:30 P.M. Her final resting place will be at the Ft. Yuma Quechan Big House. Pallbearers will be Edward Hill Jr., Aaron Thomas, Philbrick Emerson Jr., Dylan Emerson, Shane Thomas, Kyle Gilmore, Kurtis Gilmore, Isiah Short, Samuel Hill Jr., Michael Cachora, Anthony Cachora, Keanu Cachora, Alec Cachora. Honorary pallbearers will be Eldridge Smith, Edward Hill Sr., Sam Hill Sr., Donald Cachora, Philbrick Emerson, Michael Aguerro, Roman Aguerro, Sheldon Smith, Winfield Chaipos Sr., Robert Johnson, Mike Throssel, Michael Burton, Martine Prietta, Mario Prietta, and Jason Johnson.
