He went on to earn a Masters Degree in Theology from Pepperdine University. In 1989, Hal married Christine Michelle Marshall. Together, they led the youth ministry of her home church in Camarillo, California for ten years. It was during this time that daughters Mollie and Madison were born. Hal and his young family left Camarillo to serve as missionaries in Santiago, Chile. They spent three years in Chile before returning to the States and settling in the Phoenix area. Hal and his family attended Trinity Mennonite Church, in Glendale before eventually becoming the Pastor and a leading voice in the Anabaptist Movement. He had the opportunity to speak at the Mennonite National Convention in Kansas City last summer, and considered it one of the highlights of his career in ministry. Hal is survived by his wife, Christine and daughters, Mollie Christine Shrader-Perry (Joshua) of Anaheim, California and Madison Leigh Shrader, a student at Fresno Pacific University. Also, his parents, JB and Laretta Shrader, sister, Cynthia Shrader-Pantoja (Jorge), niece and nephew, Kassandra and Toby, all of Yuma.
