HITTNER Funeral service for Harmon D. Hittner, 93, of Orange Park, FL will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville. Please arrive 15 minutes early and park in Procession Lane # 3. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 pm on Tuesday evening at Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 111 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Haven Hospice (800) 727-1889. Harmon was born on September 4, 1923 in Princeton, IN. He passed away on December 9, 2016 in Orange Park, FL. He is survived by a daughter, Terry Wildeman; 2 sons, Joe Hittner and William D. Hittner; a brother, Jimmy Hittner; granddaughters, Hillary Hittner and Brittany Robbins; grandsons, Gabe Lamar and Drew Hittner; and one great-granddaughter, Gabriella Lamar. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harmon Sr. and Olga Hittner; his wife, Aggie Hittner; and a great-grandson, Christian Riley Lamar. Mr. Hittner served in the Army from 1943-1945 in England, France, and Germany. He entered the Postal Service in 1947 and retired after 32 years of dedicated service. He also worked as a Security Guard at the OPM for 15 years. He was a big fan of IU Basketball and Notre Dame Football. Above all, he loved his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
