Harold Don Wilsie Obituary

May 09, 1943 - Jun 21, 2024

This obituary is administered by:

Hal Wilsie, born May 9th, 1943, passed away June 21st, 2024. He was the youngest child of Marvin (Dick) Wilsie and Ina Bray. He was preceded in death by both parents and his brother, Richard Dan Wilsie. He is survived by his sister, Carman Wilcox of Texas, and her two sons, Jim and Don Wilcox, and their families, as well as one niece, Lynn Wilcox, and her family. He married Barbara Sue Lawson in 1962, and they had one child, Anna Marie Wilsie, who survives him, along with her six children: Tyler Wilsie and his wife, Kerri, of Broken Arrow; Allyson Sing and her husband, Grayson Scoggins, of Tecumseh; Barbara Sing of Hereford, Arizona; Robert Wilsie of Enid; Beau Wilsie and his wife, Kayla, of Pharaoh; and Sarah Jane Wilsie Walker of Shawnee. He also leaves behind a large family of great-grandchildren and many friends.

One of these friends, Bobbie Lee McGirt, was Hal's longest relationship, spanning 75 years. They met on the playground of St. Louis School in 1949 and became closer than some brothers. They visited each other's families in California during summer breaks and never lost touch. At the time of his death, Bobbie remained Hal's best friend and chosen brother.

Hal married twice more, but it was the love of his life, Diann Lafferty, who survives him and brought joy to his life every day. Diann was the family's lifesaver, providing care and love. She was with him when he received his ALS diagnosis and was his reason for getting up each day. It was holding her hand when he passed away, and in his final moment, he saw someone standing there, waiting to greet him. We will have to wait until it's our turn to know who it was, but we take comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering.

To Diann, thank you for loving my Daddy; the grandchildren and I will always be grateful.

Hal lived life on his terms; he was lucky to have a job he excelled at and loved. This allowed him to enjoy his life and time spent with others traveling and so much more.
