ORLAND — Harold W. Boocher, 94, died Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Lakeland Nursing Center in Angola. Harold was born on April 28, 1920 in Lakeville, Indiana, to the late Elmer and Helen M. (Starrett) Boocher. He married Doris M. (Donovin) Boocher on June 28, 1941 at the Chapel in The Garden in Angola, and she preceded him in death November 28, 2008. He owned Boocher Body Shop in Orland for 60 years. He owned a race car #43 and raced at Butler, Michigan, Angola Speedway, Bryan, Ohio and Fort Wayne. He was a member of the Orland Nazarene Church and was a member of the CCC, building Shelter Houses and the Pavilion at Pokagon State Park in Angola. Survivors include: a son, Earl Himes of Orland; two daughters, Darleen (Tom) Ross of Orland and Debbie Hicks of Orland; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Louis and John Boocher, and a half sister, Sabre Mary (Lamb) Young. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at H.E.
