LAURINBURG — Harold Francis Spangler, 76, passed away at Morrison Manor on Feb. 13, 2016.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by the Rev. Woody Byrd. Burial with military honors will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
Harold was born on Dec. 19, 1939 in Rockford, Illinois, son of the late Maurice H. and Lillian Poifel Spangler. He was the devoted husband to the late Nancy Jo Grooms Spangler that preceded him in death in 1998. He was an avid worker retiring from L.O.F. Pilkington Glass after many years of service and he enjoyed being a small engine mechanic. His happiest times were those spent with family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his siblings Clifford John Spangler, Wayne Maurice Spangler, Ervin Edward Spangler, Ralph Michael Spangler, Robert Lee Spangler and Josephine Arline Spangler.
Harold is survived by his four sons Daniel "Danny" Maurice Spangler (Jessica) of Dunn, James Harold Spangler and Robert Hale Spangler (Lindsay) of Laurinburg, and Charles Keith Spangler (Debra) of Cherryville, brothers Vernon Eugene Spangler, Richard Allen Spangler, Lawrence "Larry" Spangler, and Lyle Ray "Tate" Spangler, sister Debra Sue Yarborough, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6- 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
