Harold Glenn SemonHarold Glenn Semon died peacefully at home on January 21, 2017 at the age of 81. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Barbara Powell Semon and her three daughters Leslie Bankston of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Susan Buhrer of Shreveport, LA and Jennifer Ruggles of Seattle, Washington; his sons Dr. Michael Semon of Birmingham, AL, Russell Semon and wife Kathy of Shreveport, LA, Terry Semon of Shreveport, LA and his daughter Bethani Funderburk and husband Ed of Fort Worth, TX.; his brother, David Semon of Washington City, Utah; as well as 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, John Edgar Semon; his mother Francis "Fanny" Hartsfield Semon; his brothers, Richard "Bubba" Semon, Jimmy Semon, Olin Semon, Eugene Semon, John Edgar Semon, Jr. and his sisters, Katherine Semon Bryan and Lolita Semon Heard. Harold was born on August 20, 1935 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He graduated from Fair Park High School in 1953 and attended Centenary College where he was honored to sing in the Centenary College Choir. He served in the
Army from 1955-1961 and was stationed in Aberdeen, MD where he met and was married to Nonie Grace Semon for 25 years, with whom he had four children he dearly loved. Following his Father's footsteps Harold developed an interest in construction. He worked for Handyman Inc. for many years and in the early 1980's he established his company Homework by Semon. A memorial service will be held to celebrate his life at Broadmoor Baptist Church, Memorial Chapel on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 11:00a.m. The family invites you to visit the hour prior to the service in the Chapel.His practice of generosity will also be carried on as the request is made that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to: Broadmoor Baptist Church Missions, 4110 Youree Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana 71105.
