Harold M. "Monte" DotySPRING BAY - Harold M. "Monte" Doty, 65, of Spring Bay, IL, passed away at 12:43 a.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2016, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.He was born on September 27, 1951, in Shelbyville, IL, to Harold W. and Orda L. (Walden) Doty. He married Donna R. Murrell on April 6, 1991, in Metamora. She survives.Also surviving are his children, Beth (Dave) Mann, Jennifer (Shawn) Sarver, Heather Doty and Michael Petrovics, all of Metamora, Nelson (Elizabeth) Doty of Spring Bay, Jeremy Doty of Metamora, Johnathan Doty of Peoria Heights and Jordan Doty of Jacksonville, FL; eleven grandchildren; siblings, Doug (Carla) Doty of Metamora, Stan Doty of East Peoria, Dianna (Doug) Delinski and Rick (Lisa) Doty, both of Metamora, Dorwin (the late Shelley) Doty of Washington, April (Steve) Nauman of Germantown Hills and Brian (Karen) Doty of East Peoria; and a plethora of nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Shelley Doty.Monte was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Metamora Redbirds fan. He worked the Chain Gang for Redbird football for many years. He loved fishing, golfing, singing and playing the guitar. He enjoyed coaching and watching his kids and grandkids at their sporting events. He loved Oreo cookies. He was a loving husband, dad, PaPa and uncle to his family. He was a member of RiversEdge United Methodist Church in Spring Bay. Love you too!!!A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at 11 a.m. at RiversEdge United Methodist Church in Spring Bay, with Pastors Andrew Hopp and Mike Fender officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the church and also one hour prior to his service at the church. Burial will be in Spring Bay Cemetery in Spring Bay.
