BURLINGTON - Harold Martin Oldenburg Sr. age 93, passed away May 31, 2012 at Kindred Care Center Kenosha. He was born on March 24, 1919 in the town of Norway, Racine County to the late Alfred and Esther (nee: Krogstad) Oldenburg. He graduated from the Racine County School of Agriculture in 1937. A World War II Veteran, Harold served in the Army from 1941 to 1945, as Combat Medic in the 32nd Armored Regiment, 3rd Armored Division, serving during the Battle of the Bulge and four other battles in France, Belgium and Germany. He has been a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans for many years as well as the Military Order of the Purple Heart. On December 22, 1951 Harold was united in marriage to Lorraine Brook in Waukesha. In 1981 he retired after working 22 years at American Motors Corp. in Kenosha. Harold and his wife have lived in Twin Lakes, Randall and then moved to Brighton where they lived for many years. In recent years they have lived in Burlington. He is survived by his wife Lorraine, daughters Margaret Hakomaki of Waukesha, Mary Dexter of Kansasville, sons James (Christine) Oldenburg of Lake Geneva; Harold (Bonnie) Oldenburg Jr. of Burlington, Richard (Rocio) Oldenburg of Burlington, grandchildren; Shelly Oldenburg, Thomas (Brenna) Oldenburg, Angela Traughber, Nikolaos Hakomaki, Erika Oldenburg, Ashley Oldenburg and Alexander Oldenburg and great- grandchildren; Alayna, Frank, Elliot and Sullivan and a sister Doris Knutson. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers; Donald, Ralph and Raymond. A Memorial service will be held Wednesday June 6 at 7:00PM at the Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home with Rev Corrine Denis officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Wed. June 6 from 4:00PM until 7:00PM at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place on Thursday June 7, 2012 at 12 noon at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery in Union Grove, WI.
