Harold Eugene McCallJuly 27, 1929 - June 8, 2015Gene McCall, 85 of Nampa, passed away of natural causes June 8, 2015 at home. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Condolences may be shared at www.dakanfuneralchapel.comGene was born on July 27, 1929 in Cushing, Oklahoma to James A. and Bessie L. (Love) McCall. His early years were spent in and around Oklahoma during the Depression. His family later settled in Vallejo, California, where he met Yvonne Turcotte.Gene married Yvonne on April 9, 1950, and together they had 3 children, James D., Edward E. and Patricia J. They later divorced in 1970.Gene married Marie Buckner in 1971 and helped raise Marie's children, Bill Bob, Jim and Jan. Gene and Marie moved to Nampa, Idaho in 1986 after retiring.Gene worked for Shell Oil Refinery and Mare Island as a welder from 1948-1959. He served in the National Guard for 2 years. He became a California Highway Patrol Officer from 1959-1985.Gene loved flying, fishing and traveling with his beloved wife, Marie. They enjoyed snow birding at Parker Dam, California for 26 years. They had a lot of fun meeting new friends and socializing with them. Gene was very handy and could fix anything. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie; his son, Edward; and one grandson.Gene is survived by his two children, Jim McCall and Patty Huddleston; Marie's children, Bill Buckner, Bob Buckner, Jim Buckner, and Jan Murphy; a nephew, John Tyson, IV; a niece, Linda Charters; and numerous grandchildren.Earlier in his life, Gene accepted Jesus Christ as His Savior. Dad, this is not goodbye - we will see you again.
