Harold Sturgeon Jr, 83, of Bloomington, Indiana, passed on August 23, 2023. Harold was born on December 01, 1939 to Laura Hatchett-Sturgeon & Harold Sturgeon Sr.He proudly served God, his country and community. He served as an Elder at Bloomington Baptist Church and a Deacon at Unionville Baptist Church, was both an Airforce and Army Veteran as well as being a member of God's Posse and the American Legion. In the 1960's, he served as a Police Officer for IU Bloomington Police and in the 1970's for The City of Bloomington Police Dept. He was one of the first to serve on the original ambulance service through Bloomington Police Department and was a 1986 Graduate from Vincennes University in Robotics.In 1959 he married his life partner of 61 years LaVangelin Lois with whom they had daughter in 1960 and a son in 1964.He was preceded in death by his wife, daughter, parents and 13 siblings.He is survived by his son Harold F. Sturgeon III (Freddy) & wife Cindy, Grandaughter's Sharlyn M. Sturgeon, Alaina V. Brand, Selena R. Harper & husband Jake. Great grandson Ryker D. Harper & 2 great grandaughter's Angela M. Risner & Sophia R. Harper.No visitation or viewing will take place per his wishes.Halo cremations have been entrusted with his arrangements and wishes.Special Thank you to V.A.
