Fredericksburg - Harriet Ellen Hill passed away quietly in her sleep on December 9, while under care Ave Maria Hospice in Fredericksburg, Texas. Mrs. Hill was born on January 10, 1916, in Tremonton, Utah and moved to the Rio Grande Valley with her parents in 1919. In 1937 she married Allwyn Bernard (A.B.) Hill., a citrus shipper partnered with Joseph Cullen Powell in owning the Donna Fruit Company of Edinburg. Texas. The couple had three sons - Davis Dayne, Larry Dean, and Berton Bernard. Mrs. Hill was loving home-maker wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was active in volunteer service - a charter member of Edinburg's Junior Service League and Senior Service League, a volunteer at the Edinburg Regional Medical Center and the Hidalgo County Historical Museum a friend of the University of Texas Pan American Alumni Association, and a lifetime Member the Edinburg Library. Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her oldest son, Dayne, her father Roy Alton Lohr, and mother Mary Holler Lohr, Husband Bernard; sisters Maxine Lohr, Dorothy Lindsey, Betty Lyles, Patricia Paris; and bothers Ronald Lohr, Daniel Lohr, John Lohr, and and Larry Lohr; as well as daughters-in-law Bonnie Hill and Doris Hill. She is survived by a sister, Charlene Cover of Seguin, Texas; two sons, Bert of Frederisburg. Texas and Larry of Georgetown, Texas and many grandchildren and great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. There will be a graveside service at Valley Memorial Gardens at 2:00 p.m. , Tuesday, December 13, 2016.
