Dover - Harry Allan LaFond, 69, passed away unexpectedly on December 10, 2016. He was born on November 8, 1947, raised and lived his entire life in Dover; the son of Armand Theodore and Elizabeth Nellie (Johnson) LaFond; Graduating from Dover High School in 1966. Harry was about to celebrate his 45th anniversary as a purchasing agent at Lydall Performance Materials in Rochester, NH. In his younger years Harry was an avid softball player and bowler. An active coach always willing to take part in his children's sports activities. Harry's favorite past time was hunting, especially Deer, in his favorite areas in Barrington. He also was an avid fisherman. Harry was often found trying to catch the elusive "big trout" and other days just out hiking the local trails with his beloved dogs. Harry loved the outdoors, the woods and was in them as often as possible. In the mid-nineties, Harry found a new passion in life, The Rottweiler Dog Breed. Since 2001, he worked tirelessly to foster, find homes and better the lives of the breed by being a supporter and then volunteer for NERR&R. There wasn't anywhere he wouldn't go if he knew he could help a dog, or a friend. Seeing Harry in a Santa or Easter Bunny suit, doing pictures to raise money for the charity was a common site. Predeceased by both his parents; a daughter, Angel LaFond and a brother, Armand Harry LaFond. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Cynthia L. (Cullen); sister, Alice (Honey) Robinson; his daughter, Aprille LaFond and her husband, Mark Austin; his son, Todd LaFond and his wife, Maranda; grandchildren, Ashley, Ashton and Seraphina; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends, lifelong friends, Walter and Ruth Fielding of Somersworth.
