Christensen Sr., HarryHarry M. Christensen Sr., age 74, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2016, at Northpoint Medical and Rehab surrounded by his family. He was born on August 18, 1942, in Bear Creek, WI to the late Julius and Gertrude (Bremer) Christensen. He married the love of his life Irene K. Getzlaff on February 4, 1967, in Oshkosh.Harry graduated from Oshkosh High School and served his country in the U.S. Army in the 1960's in Munich, Germany.After his return from Germany, he worked as a machinist at Leach Company and then in his retirement years, as a greeter at Walmart.He enjoyed bingo, hunting, fishing, listening to Johnny Cash, collecting Hot Wheels and was an avid Packer fan. He also taught hunter safety education for several years and was a long time member of Wyldewood Baptist Church. Harry enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids most of all, including overnight stays, the annual Steak & Shoot, fishing, treating them to root beer floats, Roadhouse Pizza, birthday dinners at Red Lobster and breakfast with fishing buddies.Harry is survived by his children: Jeff Christensen of Princeton, Beverly (Thomas Graikowski) Searvogel of Oshkosh, Michelle (Leo) Schmude of Rush Lake, Renee (Kip) Ziemer of Omro, Harry Jr.(Lori) of Princeton; grandchildren: Mandi Buss, Ashley Brown, Breanna, Aimee, and Caleb Searvogel, Natalie, Victoria and Isaac Kidwiler, Tabetha Christensen, Hunter and Miranda Schmude, Gabriel, Michael, Samuel, Lilly, Charity, and Daniel Ziemer; eleven great grandchildren: Avian, Kyler, Jacob, Ethan, Hailey, Aubree, Brycen, Alexander, Amelia, Dominic and Gracyn; siblings: Violet, Mary Jane, Fern, Floyd and Rose; and grandpa to furbabies: Sawyer, Sassy and Sasha. He is further survived by his special friend: Gay Gulbrandson.He was preceded in death by his wife: Irene; son in law: Kevin Searvogel; grandson: Joshua Searvogel; and siblings: Eugene, Ken, Jack, and Dick.A funeral service for Harry will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 28, 2016, at Wyldewood Baptist Church (3030 Witzel Ave.) with Pastor Jason Brenenstuhl officiating, military services will follow. Visitation will be held on Thursday at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- Westside from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again on Friday morning at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. A memorial is being established.The family would like to thank Stephanie Stettler for all her care and special favors for Dad, to Dr. Foley and Team at UW-Health, and the staff at Northpoint Medical & Rehab -especially Jim- for all the care and support they gave to Harry.
