Grandfather of Akemi Yamaguchi-Inouye, Karlyn Yamaguchi, Trevor Villanueva, Elisa Villanueva. Great-Grandfather of Kayleigh Yamaguchi. Son of the late James H. and Misaye Sakogawa Yamaguchi. Brother of James Jr. (Jan), Jean Sachi, May Aiko Fudenna (Larry), Steve (Jennifer), Dan (Sheree Kimura), Chris (Sandi), Robert (Melody), Alan (June), Jun (Cheryl), Ann Csanyi (Richard). Son-in-law of Rosie Watanabe and the late Kay Watanabe Sr. Brother-in-law of Kay Watanabe Jr.(Frances), Lloyd Watanabe (Helen). Uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. Jerry was born in Dinuba, California and lived there till the family moved to Morgan Hill, Coyote and finally to San Jose. He attended Evergreen Elementary and graduated from Mount Pleasant High School. He attended San Jose State University where he received his teaching and administrative credentials then received his Masters degree at the University of Bedford. He started his educational career at Leyva Junior High teaching woodshop. He also taught drafting, mechanical drawing and driver's ed at Silver Creek High School. After his stint in the classroom, he served as vice-principal at several schools then retired as a principal within the East Side Union High School District. He successfully retired from education after 33 years in the field. He enjoyed traveling, cooking and most of all spending time with family. He was the primary babysitter for his grandchildren/great-grandchild and loved spoiling them often. He was a fun loving, generous man who will be missed by all.
