Hayley Nicole Oberbeck Obituary

Jun 03, 2000 - Dec 30, 2022

This obituary is administered by:

In loving memory of our beautiful daughter, sister, and friend, Hayley Nicole Oberbeck.

Hayley Oberbeck, 22, of Arlington, Texas, passed on January 13, 2023. Hayley was born on June 03, 2000.

Hayley was our beautiful heart warrior. She had her first open heart surgery at only 4 ½ months old and was the youngest to get a mechanical valve at Cook Children's Hospital. She was a fighter, even at such a young age. She became a Make-A-Wish child and was able to experience so much thanks to them, including our trip to Disney World. Hayley loved going to Camp Moss/John Marc Camp every year for nine years. Only kids with heart defects attended, and this allowed for an opportunity to be around kids that were just like them. It is the absolute best camp and provided Hayley with countless memories she never forgot. Growing up, she loved participating in dance, sports, piano, choir, Church, mission trips, youth activities and was a very talented artist. She also loved the outdoors. As a young teenager, she was on the youth council at Cook Children's, where she was able to vote and decide on many changes for the betterment of other children. When Hayley was 13, she had her second open heart surgery, which was her most serious. The surgery lasted almost eighteen hours, and she ended up with two new mechanical heart valves instead of only replacing one. She was absolutely amazing coming out of that surgery and was out of the hospital in just six days. She lost her way for a few years, but we’re so glad she found her way back. She was an amazing daughter, sister, stepdaughter, granddaughter, niece, cousin, girlfriend, and the best friend anyone could ask for. She would take up or fight for anyone. She loved her younger sister very much, was so proud of her, and would protect her in any way she could. She lived her life on her own terms in the fast lane like her hair was on fire. Perhaps she knew something we didn’t because she packed as much fun and adventure as she possibly could into her twenty-two years on earth. Her sense of adventure was contagious. Hayley had a beautiful laugh and the sweetest soul. She would never back down from a dare or a fight, and her last one was the most courageous we’ve ever seen. She ended up being in the ICU for a total of thirty-one days, constantly fighting for her life. She never complained once and always thanked her nurses, and was so very sweet. She told everyone she saw how much she loved them. She even managed to keep her incredible sense of humor. She also decided to renew her faith in God by getting rebaptized. Hayley was loved by so many and will be missed by countless more. She will be missed most by her mother, father, sister, and stepfather. We loved her so very much.

Hayley is survived by mother Natalie Bierman, father Robert Oberbeck, sister Hannah Oberbeck, stepfather, Ronnie Bierman; grandparents Richard and Alexis Stevens, Marlene Oberbeck, Linda and Fred Davis, Ronnie Williams; aunts and uncles Nicole and James Garner, Megan Stevens, Michelle Nelson, Andie Mitchell, Amy and Alex Croft, Brent and Sonia Williams, Dewayne and Stefanie Williams; cousins Zoe Register, Brett Garner, Dillion Oberbeck, Tanner Massingill, Maycie Massingill, Nina Reed, Trinity Harp, Davis Croft, Seth Weldon, Makayla Williams, and many many extended family members. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Joyce Stevens, Susan Rowe, Donald Oberbeck.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Hayley’s honor may be sent to either the Pediatric Congenital Heart Association or John Marc Camp.

You can to the family or in memory of Hayley Oberbeck.
