Hayward K. McKinney, Jr.

Hayward McKinney, 69, born in Lecompte, LA, passed away on November 28, 2016. He was a beloved member of the community, known for his kind heart and generous spirit. Hayward was born on May 31, 1947, and lived a life filled with love, laughter, and compassion. His was referred to by his closest friends as "Speedy". He was a Very Loved and well-known Father, Grandfather (Grampy), Family, and Friend, Always there to lend a hand and help those in need. Hayward will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those whose lives he touched. May he Rest Eternally in Peace. God rest his soul.

Not long after graduating from Fair Park High School in 1966, he joined the U.S. Army. He also obtained a degree in Auto-mechanics. He absolutely loved to fish, sing hymns, and work on vehicles. He loved the outdoors and would go on daily strolls. If a vehicle needed fixed, he would be the first one there to help.

Hayward was proceeded in death by his parents, Hayward McKinney, Sr. and Amelia Stockman McKinney, and Brother Joel McKinney.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Elizabeth McKinney and Shari McKinney Logan, grandchildren Lydia Logan and Cayden Logan. His Brother, Walter David McKinney; Sister, Kennie McVay and Husband Cullen Tyrone, nephews and niece- Richard, Yancy, Joel, Amanda (Mandy) and their families.
