Hazel I. HuntRICHMOND, Ind. - Hazel Irene Hunt, 86, of Richmond, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Ind. Hazel was born on Dec. 22, 1924, in Greensburg (Rodney), Ind., to Harry and Mary (Masters) Stuart. Hazel had four sisters. All have preceded her in death: Elvira (Charlie) Breeden, Helen (Wilbur) Smith, Myrtle (Howard) Waugh, Louella Powers. One infant brother and daughter-in-law, Carolyn Myers, also have preceded her in death. Hazel has lived most of her life in Wayne County. She also lived in Tampa, Fla., for 20 years and retired from the Hillsbobo County School Corp. in 1987. After retirement, she and her husband Victor moved back to Richmond where she lived until her death. Hazel was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Womens Auxiliary American Legion Post 169 in Cambridge City. Survivors include her husband, Victor James Hunt whom she married on April 16, 1966, in Covington, Ky.; one brother-in-law, Howard "Shorty" Waugh of Cambridge City; two sons, Don (wife Gayle) Myers and Roger Myers; three daughters, Connie (husband Dave) Burns, Terry (husband Rodger) Wright and Karen (companion Dane Tyree) Mofield; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; five nephews; four nieces. A funeral service conducted by Hazel's family will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 16, 2011, at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Burial will follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, at the funeral home. Online condolences can be made at
