She was raised in New Castle and moved to Kent County in 1953. Helen was preceded in death by her husband John Albert "Jack" Kennard in 1987, 4 brothers, Wesley, George, Ernest and Samuel Pennell and a sister Charlotte Hitchens.She is survived by her honey of 30 years, Robert Hitchens; children John A. Kennard, Jr. and Linda Ann Beasley all of Worton, MD; 3 grandchildren, Tracy Burris (Steve), Dawn Humbertson (Joe) and John A.
