LAGRANGE — Helen Clay, age 80, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at Life Care Center of LaGrange, LaGrange, Indiana. Helen was born on March 24, 1934, at East Gilead, Michigan, the daughter of Clarence and Vera (Henderson) Wooster. They preceded her in death. Helen married Frederick J. "Fred" Clay on March 28, 1953, at the Fremont United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on July 12, 2013. She graduated from Orland High School in 1952. She was a member of the LaGrange United Methodist Church. She retired from Sealed Power in LaGrange, Indiana. She enjoyed doing crochet, making afghans, and prayer shawls, for all ages including veterans and babies. She was a big Detroit Tigers fan, and she loved her entire family very much, including her family dog "Skippy." Survivors include four daughters, Kathy and Ken Stroh of Bronson, Michigan, Teresa and Robert Stauffer of Mohrsville, Pennsylvania, Penny Johnston of Colon, Michigan, and Sandy and Rick Adams of Granger, Indiana; one son, Steven and Dawn Clay of Sturgis, Michigan; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a brother, Lawrence (Shirley) Wooster of Orland, Indiana; and a sister, Lucile (Dean) Johnson of LaGrange, Indiana. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Lee Clay. Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2015, at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana. Funeral services will follow the calling hours at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2015, at Beams Funeral Home, with the Rev. Chris Danielson officiating.
