YORK Helen E. Way, 79, transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Monday, October 20, 2014. Helen was the widow of Willie J. Way, Jr. Helen was born on March 7, 1935 to the late Bessie Simpson and the late Harvey Orr. Helen was known as "Skinny Baby", and she loved cooking, playing the lottery and most of all being around her family. She was a retiree of The Yorktowne Hotel and Stauffer's Biscuit Co. Helen leaves to cherish her memory, four sons, William E. Way (JoAnn), Terry L. Way, Larry E. Way (Vernita), and Blaine M. Way (Ann); a daughter, Gina M. Folk (Robert); two sisters, Betty Orr and Mary Frederick; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family members and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by a son, Shelton L. Way; five sisters, Lovie Watson, Mamie Womack, Eartha Simpson, Barbara Hudson, Delores Dickson; and a brother, Clarence Richardson. A viewing is schedule for Monday, October 27, 2014 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Bible Tabernacle Christian Center, 361 S. Pine St. and a Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Carl Scott, officiating. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, York.
