Helen Elizabeth Berg, 87, of Snohomish, WA died peacefully on October 4, 2013 in the Providence Emergency Room surrounded by her family, pastor and a close friend. Helen was born on June 30, 1926 in Everett. She was a lifetime Washington native and loved the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. She enjoyed traveling but always loved getting home to Washington, the mountains and Port Gardener Bay. Helen was a proud member of the Association of Professional Mortgage Women throughout the years of her employment and was named Woman of the Year for 1976-1977. She worked in the title insurance business for 36 years, retiring from TICOR Title in 1990. She was a life member of the Order of Eastern Star and an active member of the Order of Rainbow for Girls both during her girlhood and while her daughters were members. Many lasting memories were gained from this affiliation. She was also an active member of P.E.O. in Chapter FQ, Snohomish. She enjoyed the many friendships she shared with these wonderful women. Helen was an active member of Snohomish First Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bob and her parents, Hank and Ida Marion. She is survived by her two daughters, Janice Van Horne (Morris) and Jo Ann Payton (Richard); grandchildren, Brad Van Horne (Vanessa), Brian Van Horne, Brent Van Horne, Erin Baker (Michael), Richard Payton (Amanda); six great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Rodger Berg (Evelyn); and several nieces and a nephew. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in her name be made to the Snohomish First Presbyterian Church Deacons Fund or the . A celebration service will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Snohomish First Presbyterian Church, 1306 Lakeview Avenue, at 2 p.m.
