TRENTON | Helen Elizabeth Taylor Haddock, 88, of Trenton, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2014, surrounded by family. Mrs. Haddock was born on July 18, 1926, the daughter of the late Durant Henry Taylor and Bertha T. Taylor. Mrs. Haddock lived her life on the John Edward Taylor homeplace in Trenton, N.C. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker. She worked alongside her husband on the family farm until his death in September 1965. She later worked as a salesperson at a pharmacy and furniture store before retiring at home. She was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church. Mrs. Haddock was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Horace Lee Haddock. She is survived by her daughters, Virginia Carol Haddock Roberson and husband Stanley, of Kinston, Linda Kay Haddock Harriett and husband Jimmy, of New Bern; two grandchildren, Leigh Allyson Roberson Phillippe and husband Patrick, of Kinston, Rebecca Lynn Roberson Janson and husband Brian, of New York, N.Y.; three great-grandchildren, David Roberson Phillippe, Benjamin Patrick Phillippe and Robert Floyd Janson. Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, September 11, 2014, at Howard-Carter Funeral Home with the Reverend Greg Dickerson officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service and other times at the home of Stanley and Carol Roberson in Kinston. Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 12, 2014, at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
