Helen Elizabeth SmithGreensboro, NCHelen Elizabeth Smith, affectionately known as "Miss Cookie" passed away on June 9, 2017. She was born on September 1, 1928 in Morristown where she lived most of her life. She has lived in Greensboro, North Carolina with her daughters for the past few years. She retired from the Morris View Nursing Home Center. Helen is preceded in death by her husband Donald "Sid" Smith and her Father, Mr. William Cook, Mother, Ovella Locks, a son Donald "Shot" Smith and a son, David Smith. Left to mourn her passing are her devoted daughters Delores "Sissy Horsley, Deborah Jones, and Michele Newberry. She had (6) grandsons, Robbie King, NJ, Donnie Smith Stokes, IL, Keith Brooks, NJ, David Holmes-Smith, NJ, Christopher Newberry, NM, and Anthony Smith, NJ, (1) granddaughter, Lelia Jones, NC, and (11) great grandchildren. There will be "A CELEBRATION OF LIFE" Saturday June 17 at Union Baptist Church 89 Spring St. Morristown. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Memorial Park E. Hanover.
