Born on April 1, 1953, and passed away peacefully on May 4, 2024, at her home. She was the beloved daughter of the late William and Melissa Purkey.

Helen was a loving wife to Joel Gorrell, whom she married in the year 1971. Together, they raised a son, Christopher B. Gorrell (Poca WV), who is engaged to his fiancée Julie.

She was a retired beautician, having worked in the industry until 2005. In her free time, Helen enjoyed gardening and playing cards with her sisters.

There will be no graveside services or visitation. There will be a private celebration of life May 13th at the home of her sister Bonnie with whom she shared with. The family requests that no flowers be sent to the home because if you knew Helen then you knew she would've said, “If I didn’t grow it, then I don’t want it”.
