It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Helen Gorrell, who was born on April 1, 1953, and passed away on May 4, 2024, in Cary, North Carolina, United States.

Helen was the beloved daughter of the late William and Melissa Purkey. She was also the loving spouse of the late Joel Gorrell, to whom she was married in 1971. Together, they had one child, Christopher Gorrell and his fiancé Julie.

Helen was a retired beautician, who dedicated many years to her craft before retiring in 2005. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and playing cards with her sisters.

Her sudden passing has left a void in the lives of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and remembered fondly by all.

There will be no services as requested by the family. There will be a private family celebration of life on May 13th at the home of her sister Bonnie with whom she lived with for the last 12 years.

The family asks that there be no flowers sent to the home.
