Helen I. BraunSt. Cloud, MinnesotaDec. 22, 1922 ~ Jan. 29, 2017A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Helen I. Braun, age 94, of St. Cloud who passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at St. Benedicts Senior Community in St. Cloud. Reverend Timothy Gapinski will officiate. Placement of the urn will take place at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls. Family and friends may call after 9:30 a.m. on Friday at the Church in St. Cloud. Arrangements are with the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. Helen was born on December 22, 1922 in Patton, Pennsylvania to Valentine and Mary (McMullen) Scheehan. She graduated from Patton High School at the age of 15. Helen worked at the State Capital in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She married James C. Braun on September 6, 1947 at St. Augustine's Catholic Church in Patton, PA and moved to St. Cloud where they raised their six children. Helen was a devoted wife, loving mother and wonderful homemaker. She treasured spending time with her family. She was a charter member of Holy Spirit Parish and an active member of Wapicada Golf Course. Helen also loved spending time with her friends and relatives, reading, crossword puzzles, traveling, golf and the outdoors. She is survived by her; daughters, Barbara (Lani) Gabatino of New Brighten, Susan Braun (Paul Schall) of Danbury, WI, Patty (Fritz) Rand of Crystal Lake, IL, Mary (John) Stanley of Phoenix, AR; sons, Steve (Kim) Braun of St. Cloud and Jeff (Cindy) Braun, Virginia Beach, VA; and an abundance of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Eric Mildebrath; sisters-in-law, Marge Wickert, Mary Kuhn, and Helen Reller; and many other relatives and friends. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Jim in 2007; and her seven siblings; daughter-in-law, Brenda (Buttenhoff) Braun and granddaughter, Katie Braun-Wingard. A Special Thank You to the Staff at St. Benedicts Senior Community and Recover Health for the exceptional care given to Helen. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
