Griffin, Helen M.Helen M. Griffin, age 97, a rural Manitowoc resident, died Friday, August 25, 2017.She was born on July 1, 1920 in the town of Cato, Manitowoc County, daughter of the late Theodore and Meta (Kattreh) Jeske. On September 2, 1944 she married Edwin Griffin at Gjerpen Church, Valders. He preceded her in death on January 30, 1976. Helen was a home care services provider. She was a lifelong active member of Faith Lutheran Church, Valders. Helen was an avid sports fan. She especially enjoyed watching the Milwaukee Brewers. Helen was famous for her chocolate chip cookies and loved her family above all else.Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law: Frank (Bev) Griffin, Valders, Earl (Barb) Griffin, Valders, John (Sandy) Griffin, Manitowoc; a son-in-law and daughter-in-law: Gary (Mary) Evenson, Sherwood; 12 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law: Esther Jeske, Manitowoc and Joan Jeske, Clintonville. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by a daughter: Carol Evenson; an infant granddaughter; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Lucy (Ted) Schroeder, Leona (Randy) Harrison, Eunice (Donald) Bastian; three brothers and two sisters-in-law: Ronald Jeske, Theodore (Betty) Jeske, Philip (Lila) Jeske; and five brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Victor (Leona) Griffin, Janet (Juel) Madson, Irene (William) Shier, Nora (Raymond) Mason and Christina (Palmer) Madson.Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Faith Lutheran Church, Valders. Officiating at the Service will be Pastor Ted Johanson with burial at Gjerpen Cemetery, Valders.The family will greet relatives and friends at Faith Lutheran Church, Valders, from 9:00 a.m. Saturday, September 2, 2017 until 11:15 a.m.In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Helen's name.Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family by visiting
