Nistler, Helen R.Helen Rose (Imming) Nistler, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at Allouez Sunrise Village in Allouez. Helen was born on Feb. 5, 1930 the daughter of Leo and Mary (Casselman) Imming in Watertown, Wis. Helen attended Watertown High School, where she met her high school sweetheart and eventual husband Paul Nistler. They married on April 19, 1952, and Paul preceded her in death on April 14, 2010. After high school, Helen worked for AT&T in Madison, followed by moves to Philadelphia and Waukesha. Upon moving her family to Green Bay in 1960, Helen became a lifelong Packers fan enjoying the rich Packers history and traditions. When her family was young, Helen enjoyed frequent camping trips with them in northern Wisconsin, Michigan and Door County as well as annual Spring camping caravans with family and friends to Florida. Helen's lifelong passions included playing bridge, reading, playing golf and traveling. She worked for many years at St. Vincent Hospital and continued to volunteer at the hospital after her retirement. Helen was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and was committed to her family, bringing them up in a strong Catholic tradition. Helen set an example throughout her life for volunteering and sharing her sense of humor with others.Helen is survived by her five children, Paul (Audrey) Nistler, Bob (Carol) Nistler, Kathy (Doug) Hartman, Karen (Dan) Lange, Jamie (Tim) Hornberger, 14 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Gathering of family and friends will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Monday, July 17, 2017 at St. Bernard Catholic Church 2040 Hillside Lane. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Mark Vandersteeg officiating. Burial will take place at the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King, Wisconsin next to her husband Paul. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in her name. The family would like to thank the staff at Allouez Sunrise Village for their care, compassion and friendship.
