Helen Ruth (Reimer) RatzloffAugust 3, 1927 - August 8, 2017Helen Ruth (Reimer) Ratzloff was born on August 3, 1927 on a farm in Corn, Oklahoma to C.J. and Helen Reimer. She had two brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her youngest brother Jacob James Reimer (Hesston, Kansas.)Helen was married to Harry Ratzloff on August 4, 1946. They celebrated 54 years of marriage. Harry passed away January 28, 2000 at the age of 76.They began their married life in Hillsboro, Kansas and welcomed three children. Julie (Patterson) July 15, 1947, Ken Ratzloff November 15, 1949 and Teresa (Baker) July 22, 1954.Harry and Helen loved their children and their extended families. They enjoyed entertaining them with stories, jokes and music. Harry sang and played the guitar. Helen was the perfect harmony for their many hours of song.Helen was active in church all of her life. She served her Lord faithfully through difficult and joyous times.Helen was an avid seamstress, sewing for herself, family and friends. She was determined to dress her best and demonstrated amazing resourcefulness to accomplish this goal.She is also survived by her three children, 7 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.The last months of her life she was cared for by her son, Ken and Melissa Whitbeck. She found great love, peace and happiness being in their home.Helen passed away August 8 just five days after celebrating her 90th birthday.Graveside services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 26 at Pioneer Memorial Cemetery in Brooks. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:00-10:00 am at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
