Helen V. Polen 1931 2017 85, of Dover died at her home on Friday, Feb. 10, 2017. She was born on June 29, 1931 in Proctor, W.Va., and is survived by her daughters, Sandi Schrump Wallace of Strasburg, Deana Schrump of Dover; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and her long-time companion, Jack Furniss of Dover. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, daughter, grandson, seven brothers and a sister. Helen had been a well-known waitress at the former Bassetti's and Pro's Table for over 30 years. She loved her customers and looked forward to seeing them on a weekly basis. She and Jack enjoyed going on trips to Wheeling Island and Las Vegas and she loved spending time with her family and friends. Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 2:00 p.m. in the Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia with Rev. Brian Flood officiating.
