LAUREL HILL — Mr. Henry Elbert Morgan, 77, passed away at his home on Nov. 6, 2013.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Sandhills Community Baptist Church with burial following in the church cemetery. The Rev. J.W. Williams and the Rev. Larry Chavis will officiate the services.
Henry was born on Jan. 10, 1936 in Scotland County, son to the late Arch L. Morgan and Mary Norton Morgan. He was a textile worker retiring from JP Stevens, Inc. after many years of service. He loved farming and enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding in the country. Henry was a devoted and loving father and grandfather who truly cherished his time with family.
He was also preceded in death by his grandson Tommy Morgan, Jr., sisters Elizabeth Teal and Catherine Britt, and brother Charles Morgan.
Surviving are his longtime companion Lula Dial of the home, his sons Henry Morgan, Jr. of Laurel Hill, Tommy Morgan and wife Faye of Laurel Hill, Prescott Morgan of Laurel Hill, Timothy Morgan and special friend Yvett Harris of Laurel Hill, and John Wayne Dial of Maxton, daughters Betty Parsons and husband John of Ellerbe, Debbie Jordan and husband Charles of Bennettsville, S.C., Jackie Hunt and husband Lonnie of Maxton, and Janice Parks of Laurel Hill, sister Beulah Weinreis of Laurinburg, brothers Woodrow Morgan, Archie Morgan, Jr., Richard Morgan, and Claude Morgan all of Laurel Hill, 15 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will held on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
