Henry was born in Flint, MI on July 18, 1938 of John H Miller and Colleen (Jones) Miller. Henry grew up in a loving Woodrow Avenue home enjoying his childhood with dear neighborhood friends. A 1956 graduate of Flint Central High School, Henry went on to march in Michigan State University’s color guard before returning home to complete his B.B.A. at the University of Michigan-Flint. Henry took that degree and tenaciously worked his way up through the automotive industry.
Though the consummate corporate man, it was his personal and family life that truly defined Henry. He married Sharon in October of 1959 and the two began a life of adventures together (remodeling and building homes, vacationing, and making the best of every situation). Henry and Sharon would go on to have four beautiful children, Randall, Cheryll, Andrea, and Cynthia, who became their life. Henry found immense satisfaction raising his children, and was proud to see them each grow into the potential he saw within them as children.
Henry took pride in his outdoor spaces (ponds and gardens) in which he spent many sunny days. Henry adored the time he spent with his family building a cabin in Cheboygan near the beaches of Lake Huron. When not visiting lighthouses, he loved lounging on those beaches, spotting freighters with a beer and book in hand, and Sharon at his side.
When diagnosed with T-cell lymphoma in 2018, Henry approached his battle with cancer with strength and resolve through his chemotherapy treatments. As the disease came and went in various forms over the past two years, he never wavered. After recent weeks in the hospital, Henry had bravely made his peace and decided to transition from this life in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family and beloved dogs.
Henry is survived by: Wife, Sharon ; 4 children, Randall (Lynette) Miller, Cheryll (Dave) Glassburn, Andrea (Ken) Peters, Cynthia (Bradley) Grimes; many other loving family members and friends.
