Ferrier, HenryHenry J. Ferrier, 95, a lifelong resident of the Green Bay area, passed away on January 10, 2017. He was born on January 30, 1921, to the late Desire and Mary (Liebergen) Ferrier in Dyckesville, WI. Henry attended elementary school in Dyckesville through the sixth grade. He then worked on the family farm until he was drafted to serve in the army during World War II. Serving as a mechanic and truck driver, he saw action in central Europe. Prior to shipping out to Europe, he married his sweet heart, the late Jane Du Jardin, in August of 1944 at St. Willebrord Catholic Church. Prior to her death, they were married for 58 years. They had two children, Dan Ferrier, Detroit, and the late Lin (Frank) Harmison. Henry worked as a mechanic on heavy equipment at Brebner Machinery and later for Brown County. While at Brebner's, he served for many years as the financial secretary for the Green Bay local of the International Association of Machinists. He also served as an officer for the Greater Green Bay Area Labor Council and the Labor Temple. He was very proud of his service to the Green Bay Labor Management Council, promoting education and finding jobs for young people in the Green Bay area. Henry was also a member of Winiecki VFW Post 9677. He was a longtime, active member, of both, Holy Martyrs Parish and Prince of Peace Parish. Henry loved to tell stories of his days on the farm, his stay in the army and his many job experiences. He is survived by his son, Dan Ferrier, Detroit, MI and his son-in-law, Frank Harmison, Appleton; two granddaughters, Sarah (Brad) Mullins and Michelle Harmison; six great-grandchildren: Isaiah, Mikail and Khalil Harmison and Samuel, Grant and Emma Mullins; four siblings: Ira (Judy) Ferrier; Lorraine Malcore; Walter (Donna) Ferrier and Jean (Harvey Parson) Ferrier; his sister-in-law, Evelyn Ropson; numerous nieces and nephews, godsons and goddaughters.Henry was preceded in death by his wife Jane, his parents and his daughter, Lin Harmison, his brothers: Bernard, Donald, Martin and Arnold Ferrier; sisters-in-law: Shirley Ferrier Gebhard, Berdine (Cyril) Massey; brothers-in-law: Clarence (Doris) De Jardin, Elmer (Rita) De Jardin, Anthony (Mildred) Du Jardin, Gerald Ropson and Robert Malcore.Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm Sunday, January 15. VFW Post 9677 Memorial Service, 1:50 pm Sunday, Parish wake service Sunday at 2:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Monday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 3425 Willow Rd., after 9:30 am until time of Mass. Funeral Mass 11:00 am Monday at the church with Rev.
