Henry Joseph SalvatoriJuly 9, 1944 - June 10, 2017Salem - Henry Joseph Salvatori age 72 passed away on June 10, 2017 at Salem Health with his loving family by his side.Henry was born on July 9, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan to Joseph and Pearl. The family moved to Whittier, California in 1952 and Henry graduated from Sierra High School 1962, he then went on to graduate from Fullerton Junior College in 1965 and California State Long Beach in 1968.On October 8, 1965 Henry married his college sweet heart, Ann Guinn. Throughout fifty one years of marriage, they shared a love of design and arts. Henry' and Ann had two sons, Phillip Henry and Daniel Henry .Henry was an industrial designer and on his career path he worked for Henry Dryfus Associates in Pasadena, California and New York City. Henry went on to work for Southern California Edison before starting his own business, Criterion Associates. In 1997 Henry moved to Salem, Oregon. He was employed by Oregon Department of Transportation and he was an instructor at the University of Oregon. Henry was a former member of Industrial Designers Society; Willamette Valley Corvette Club; and he was a member of the Guild of American Luthiers.Henry was a soft spoken diplomat in business. He loved challenges and was an extraordinary problem solver. His creative skills and talents reflected in his drawings, his paintings, car restoration, and, construction of guitars and ukuleles.Henry is survived by wife, Ann; son, Phil, daughter-in-law, Sylvia, son, Dan, daughter-in-law, Joy, sister and brother-in-law, Laura and Dwight Dreyer; granddaughters, Sarah and Deanna; grandsons, Robert and Michael.Mass will be held on July 14, 2017, at 11 a.m., at Queen of Peace Catholic Church 4227 Lone Oak Rd. SE Salem, Oregon 97302. Assisting the family is Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
