My brother Jem and I would always go to Mrs. Dubose’s house to read to our beloved neighbor. It was only after she died that we realized that we were helping her with her addiction. She suffered from being addicted to crack cocaine, and we never quite understood what she was going through. My father always saw her as the bravest person he ever knew. He explained to us that she knew it was going to be a struggle, but she had courage, and ended up passing with nothing in her body. She has inspired me, and I hope her story inspires you. She was a wonderful woman who will be dearly missed.
You can to the family or in memory of Henry Dubose.
