Henry Louis "Bud" Metivier, 68, of Weston, Idaho, passed away on Friday, May 23, at Logan Regional Hospital after a long battle with cancer. Bud fought valiantly with no complaints. He started his life in Johnston, Rhode Island, on Oct. 26, 1946. His parents, Hank and Dorothy Metivier, were so proud of their only son, who now joins them. The Metiviers moved to Lakewood, California, when Bud was 11 years old. He was a graduate of Lakewood High School. From high school, Bud enlisted in the armed forces and went to Vietnam. He returned home and was married to Evelyn Louise McCabe on Nov. 16, 1970. Jaime "James" Metivier was born on Jan. 1, 1971. Bud worked as a tire man for UPS in California, and as a folder operator for Herff Jones for 20-plus years before retiring. He went to Alaska and fished the rivers and ocean, saw the sights with his son and daughter-in-law who lived in Eagle River, Alaska. He loved to fish and he spent much time at Henrys Lake in Idaho. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Louise. He was a friend to all and enjoyed his life. He was at ease when his son was with him when he passed away. He leaves behind three grandchildren - Roman Londyn - and Brenen "Tank" Metivier. He was an awesome grandpa and a great man. His son James and daughter-in-law Maria will miss him dearly. At Bud's request there will be no services. If you ever go to Henrys Lake, think of him. Bud had a soft spot for animals and helped them whenever he could. In place of any remembrance he would hope people would help the animal shelters in Logan. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.allenmortuaries.net.
